Inspirit Way Alchemy Classes

Internal Qigong

Inspirit Way Alchemy classes are arranged into five terms over the year, each term relating to one of the five Chinese elements.

The Five Elements

In Inspirit Way Alchemy, the practices specifically relate to the Cycle of the Five Elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. Each of these five phases relates to a physical season of our environment: Winter, Spring, Summer, Indian Summer and Autumn. The five elements also relate to the five major organs in our body: heart, liver, spleen, lungs and kidneys. The energy of each of the five elements within us consists of spiritual states, internal essences, vital energies and physical structures.

In Inspirit Way Alchemy we access and explore each of these elements through particular forms and sequences, movements and postures, breathwork and voicework, meditations and visualisations, animal and archetypal transformations, healing and inner alchemy practices. These have all been developed with the specific intention to connect to and experience the Yin-Yang, Three Treasures and the specific qualities of each element.

Summer Term 2020

The FIRE element is associated with the season summer. It relates to Full Yang, representing the spiritual dimension, Heaven (Tien). Its expression in us, our spirit (Shen), is our transpersonal consciousness and reality. It is called radiant (Ming) for it illuminates our mind and heart.

Our Heart (Xin) is responsible for our capacity to know and feel our spirit within us. When we do it we experience a stillness of mind, a sense of inner beauty, and a profound wellbeing, often described as bliss. When our radiant spirit is active in us, it acts as our Heart Master (Xin Zhu). For then we come to trust our spiritual self to guide us how to feel, think and live life according to our true nature.
